LEVOIT LV-H132 Air Purifier,
Not the strongest performer we've seen, but a reasonable price tag and good looks go a long way in our books.
- Reasonably priced
- Looks very cool
- Self-contained unit that can be tucked away in a corner or shelf
- Pretty effective at removing odors with a true hepa carbon filter for smoke
- Some users have reported defective buttons
- Makes a fairly loud hum when it's doing its thing
- The blue-light can't be turned off which makes it unsuitable for bedrooms
The latest offering form Levoit is an achingly beautiful cylindrical air purifier with a three stage filtration unit. Relatively small and discrete, the budget friendly purifier uses a pre-filter, True Hepa carbon filter and odor reducer. Not the strongest performer we've seen, but a reasonable price tag and good looks go a long way in our books.
Levoit is world-wide brand that began life right here in California. You can certainly see those roots in their design which is always modern, chic and not too imposing. Despite a good reputation some of their products have been criticized for being all style and no substance. This air-purifier has performed well for us, if a little noisily.
The most obvious feature of the LV-H132 is its compact nature. You won't need to move any furniture around and it's light enough to lay on a shelf or pack away for storage. The main feature is the triple filter which begins with a pre-filter, then a True Hepa Carbon filter before finishing off with a odor cleanser.
For such a small unit the purifying power you get from that triple filter is very impressive. Unfortunately, it's a lot louder than it looks and the blue light, although flashy, can't be turned off which is more than a little irritating.
Value for money
The RRP is quite expensive, but if you shop online you can buy these new for a lot cheaper than that. There's a two year warranty available with every purchase whilst the three speed options make it nice and versatile. Then there's the looks which we think are stunning. Overall a pretty piece of equipment, with more to it than meets the eye.
